Info about the show:
All Live!
We don’t expect you to pay for a phony act; you are assured that The Forgers play 100% live. Every note you will hear is played on the spot – no backing tracks!
It’s Rock and Roll and it’s LOUD!
The Forgers don’t play any louder than you would expect any rock and roll band to play, but we’re not a cocktail act! Live drums, bass and electric guitar inevitably means loud, high energy music, so if you’re looking for ‘background’ music, The Forgers are not going to be ideal. Please bear this in mind when considering the type of entertainment you want and the type of venue where you will be holding your event. If the band starts playing and you suddenly realise that it’s too much for you, there’s little that can be done about it then!
In particular, please check with the venue whether there is a sound limiter installed (this is an electronic device that causes the electrical circuits to cut out if the volume of music remains above a certain level for more than a certain number of seconds – they are usually installed as a requirement of a venue’s entertainment licence because of residential accommodation nearby or for structural reasons). It is usually not practical for us to perform at venues with sound limiters and we would rather know about them before we make wasted arrangements – it will avoid a lot of disappointment later on!
Sets
We typically perform three sets of half an hour or two sets of 45 minutes. However, we can negotiate with you according to your needs.
Requests
Check our set list for the hits we play. We will do our best to cater for your requests if you let us know in advance, but please bear in mind that we will only perform a song if we think we can do it justice. Some songs are impossible to play with a three piece band!
Sound
We bring our own sound rig which is big enough for most small to medium indoor venues. We are happy to discuss larger events (including outdoor festivals etc.) and the sort of equipment that may need to be hired.
Disco
For a small extra fee and subject to negotiation, we can provide disco lighting and play your choice of dancing music over our PA between sets, either from an mp3 player or a CD player (provided by you).
Rider
We’re easily pleased! Usually we just ask for a secure place to change and store our gear and some refreshments.
Insurance
As paid-up MU members, we are insured for Public Liability in the event of any accidents.
Fees & Deposit
We don’t normally require a deposit, but we will draw up a detailed contract with you to ensure we both understand our commitments. Please contact us with the information set out above and we’ll give you a quote for your event.
